John Brumback has been selected as the Best Bank Pool Player in American History, honoring a career that established him as one of the most accomplished, knowledgeable, and feared banking specialists the sport has ever produced.

Raised in Owenton, Kentucky—within the heartland of America’s great bank-pool tradition—Brumback developed an extraordinary ability to recognize angles, control speed, and manipulate the natural reaction of an object ball off the rail. His combination of precision, creativity, and competitive toughness allowed him to excel against the strongest all-around players in the world.

Brumback’s championship résumé includes the 2006 BCA National Banks Championship, the 2007 U.S. Open Banks Championship, and consecutive Derby City Classic Bank Pool titles in 2009 and 2010. His greatness was not limited to a single discipline. In 2009, he captured the prestigious Derby City Classic Master of the Table Award, recognizing the best overall performance across bank pool, one-pocket, and nine-ball.

Winning the Master of the Table title demonstrated that Brumback was far more than a specialist. He was an elite all-around competitor capable of succeeding in disciplines requiring shot-making, cue-ball control, strategy, patience, and creativity.
